Eats the Weekend! (Tian Tian chicken rice and Awfully Chocolate)

When I’m in Singapore, the weekend is the only time I can really indulge in eating out. Weekdays are usually spent cooking at home if I have time or going to my usual food haunts because they are convenient.

Weekends are another story. I have time to slow down a bit and hopefully try out a new place or go back to one of my favorites.

One Can Never Have Too Much Sushi

From Sushi Tei, my favorite sushi place.

I have eaten in Sushi Tei in Jakarta, Singapore and Sydney. My favorite Sushi Tei has still got to be in Jakarta. Cheaper, fresher, friendlier service.

My order varies once in a while. But I usually order one (or all) of these.

Chawanmushi or Japanese egg custard.

And Now I’m Back Again

Yes, I know.

I’ve been silent.

Even as I have renewed my blog domain name for another year. It’s just that blogging is so much different now from when I used to blog ages ago. Before Facebook. Before Twitter. Before Instagram. When there was still Friendster and MySpace and I was still living in the US and Netflix delivered DVD discs to your mailbox.

I remembered thinking before, wouldn’t it be cool to have a space where you can update in real time instead of constantly edit a blog entry? Like when I was watching the Oscar’s on TV and wanted to comment as the show happened. And now, voila, there are various ways of doing this. And there are even Apps like Periscope, which I believe are taking things to another level. Continue reading

Where to Eat in Bacolod: Armynavy Burger and Burrito

To get things out of the way. Armynavy is not a local Bacolod restaurant. They are part of a national chain.

It’s also not the first time I’ve eaten at Armynavy. Have tried it in Manila years ago and this is my third trip to their place at The District North Point in Bacolod. The District is the Ayala mall in the city. There is a Robinson’s and an SM City as well, in addition to other local malls.

I always manage to order the burger with bacon and cheese and a soda. No fries on the side.

I think I may have been eating too much Bob’s burgers (see previous post), because I actually did not enjoy my Armynavy burger as much as I used to. It tasted very peppery (not a fan of too much pepper) and I just noticed how sesame seeds they have on the bun (not a fan of sesame seeds either).
